🍽️ How to prepare your Mafé?
⏱ Time: 20 min preparation · 45 min cooking · Serves 4
🛒 What you’ll need in addition: 800 g of meat (chicken, beef, or lamb), 2 onions, 3 garlic cloves, 2 carrots, 1 sweet potato, 1 eggplant, cooking oil, salt
- Brown the meat – In a pot with a drizzle of oil, brown the meat pieces for 5 minutes over high heat. Set aside. Then sauté the sliced onions and garlic until translucent.
- Prepare the tomato-peanut base – Add the DIEG BOU DIAR tomato concentrate and 1 tablespoon of JUMBO bouillon powder. Stir well for 2 minutes over medium heat.
- Add the peanut paste – Dilute 3 to 4 tablespoons of DAKATINE peanut paste in 500 ml of hot water, then pour into the pot. Return the meat, add 1 teaspoon of SAMIA ground hot chili pepper and the SAMIA bay leaves.
- Add the vegetables – Add the carrots, sweet potato, and eggplant pieces. Cover and let simmer over low heat for 35 to 40 minutes, stirring regularly until you get a creamy and smooth sauce.
- Prepare the rice – Rinse the ORCHIDÉE broken rice and cook according to package instructions. Serve the mafé over the rice, piping hot.
