BONNET ROUGE unsweetened condensed milk is an evaporated whole milk, with no added sugar, with a thick and smooth texture. It enriches coffee, sauces and desserts without changing their sugar content. The can sold on NKOSI is the 410 g one.
What is unsweetened condensed milk?
Unsweetened condensed milk, also called evaporated milk, is a whole milk from which part of the water has been removed by evaporation, with no sugar added. It is therefore thicker and richer in flavour than a regular milk. BONNET ROUGE is a brand of the Dutch dairy group FrieslandCampina, present in West Africa since 1921.
How to use it?
Add it directly to coffee or tea for a smoother drink, in the style of a café au lait. In cooking, it enriches porridges, creams and flans, and it thickens sauces, curries or stews in place of fresh cream. Since it is unsweetened, you keep control of the sugar level in your recipes. As a guide, 650 ml of boiled water added to the contents of the can give about 1,030 ml of reconstituted whole milk.
What to pair it with?
It mellows the BARKELOU Touba coffee and goes into the preparation of TANTIE thiakry or a Caribbean coconut flan. The whole section: sauces and pastes.
