SAMIA Herbes de Provence is a blend of six dried Mediterranean herbs: rosemary, marjoram, basil, thyme, savory and oregano. They flavour grilled meats, roasts and slow-cooked dishes. 50 g bag.
What is herbes de Provence?
Herbes de Provence refers to a blend of dried aromatic herbs inspired by the plants that grow in the south of France. The most common blend combines thyme, rosemary, savory and oregano; the SAMIA blend adds marjoram and basil, six herbs in all, with no other ingredient. The result is a mix of dried leaf fragments, with a resinous, slightly peppery aroma.
How to use it?
Sprinkle the herbs on a chicken before roasting it, on fish, or in a marinade for meat. They also flavour a tomato sauce, a ratatouille, a homemade pizza or pan-fried potatoes. Added during cooking, they release their aroma better; added right at the end of cooking, the flavour stays sharper. A generous pinch is enough for a dish for four people.
What to pair it with?
To intensify a particular note, pair it with SAMIA whole thyme or SAMIA whole basil. For a barbecue, try it with SAMIA barbecue spices. The whole spices and condiments range is gathered in one collection.
