EXOTICA cassava foufou is a cassava flour originating from Cameroon. Mixed with hot water, it gives the smooth paste called foufou, foutou or fufu depending on the region, which accompanies West and Central African sauces. 1 kg sachet.
What is cassava foufou?
Foufou, also spelled foutou in Côte d'Ivoire or fufu in English, is a paste obtained by mixing a starchy flour with hot water until a smooth, even texture is reached. This EXOTICA version is made from 100% cassava flour, a root widely grown in Africa, here of Cameroonian origin. It differs from foufou made with plantain or yam, prepared the same way but with a different starchy ingredient.
How to prepare it?
Gradually pour the flour into hot water, stirring vigorously and continuously to avoid lumps. Work the paste until you get a smooth, even texture, then shape into balls to dip in the sauce. Foufou is served with an okra sauce, a graine sauce (made with palm nuts) or a peanut sauce.
What to pair it with?
With TROFAI graine sauce or a sauce from the okra and sauce thickeners collection to go with it, following the blog's cassava foufou recipe. The article foufou, fufu or foutou explains the nuances between these names. In the same aisle: NUMBER ONE Akpi-Kablè foufou chilli.
