Mild curry ESPIG is a powder seasoning for preparing curry, based on coriander, turmeric, fenugreek, cardamom and mild spices. Not very hot despite a small share of hot chilli, it suits family dishes. 100 g bag.
What is mild curry ESPIG?
Unlike traditional Indian curry, which refers to a dish in sauce, the word “curry” in Europe most often refers to a powdered spice blend. ESPIG's version, a brand of the CEPASCO group founded in 1876 and based in Gémenos since 1992, combines coriander, turmeric, fenugreek, a little hot chilli, cardamom, salt, cloves, fennel, garlic and a blend of various spices. Its colour is yellow, from the turmeric, and its flavour remains rounded and mild despite the presence of chilli.
How to use it?
Sauté a teaspoon of curry in a little oil or butter before adding the meat or vegetables: this few-second dry cooking develops its aroma. It goes well with chicken stewed in coconut milk, rice, sautéed vegetables or lentils. Allow one to two teaspoons for four people, to adjust to taste.
What to pair it with?
With whole fenugreek ESPIG, already present in this blend, to strengthen the flavour, or coconut milk GRACE for a creamy chicken curry. Ideas for coconut milk recipes are on the blog. The full range is in African and Caribbean spices and condiments.
