ESPIG fenugreek seeds are sold whole, to be toasted or ground at home. The label describes them as a spice with a powerful flavour, essential ground in curries and chutneys, which also seasons oriental meat dishes. 100 g bag.
What is fenugreek?
A plant of the legume family, Trigonella foenum-graecum, whose small hard, angular, ochre-yellow seeds are used. Their taste is bitter raw and becomes rounder, almost caramelised, once toasted. ESPIG is a spice house founded in Marseille in 1876.
How to use it?
Toast the seeds for a few seconds dry, without letting them blacken, or they become very bitter, then grind them. They go into curries, chutneys, spice blends and meat marinades. A small amount is enough: its taste soon dominates.
What to pair it with?
With cumin, turmeric and coriander to put together a curry. All the spices are in the spices and condiments section. In the same section: SAMIA whole fenugreek.
