SAMIA whole fenugreek comes as whole seeds, to be roasted or ground yourself. It flavours curries, dals and spice blends. 100 g bag.
What is fenugreek?
A plant from the legume family, Trigonella foenum-graecum, whose small hard seeds are used. The SAMIA bag (Haudecœur group) contains only one ingredient: fenugreek. Their taste is bitter raw and becomes rounder, slightly caramelised, once roasted.
How to use it?
Toast the seeds for a few seconds, dry, in a hot pan, without letting them blacken, then grind them or use them whole. Soaking them beforehand in water softens their bitterness. They go into curries, dals, spicy sauces and spice blends; a small amount is enough, as their taste quickly dominates.
What to pair it with?
With SAMIA curry, which also contains fenugreek, SAMIA ground cumin or SAMIA ground turmeric to put together a homemade curry. The African and Caribbean spices and condiments department brings these products together.
