STARLING bissap ginger is an instant drink preparation: granules that dissolve in hot or cold water and give a red, tangy and slightly spiced drink. 400 g jar.
Tea, infusion or granules?
Strictly speaking, neither tea nor infusion: these are soluble granules, made from sugar and glucose, flavoured with hibiscus extract (2.2%) and ginger extract (1.5%). There is nothing to strain, and the product does not contain tea. Hibiscus is also called karkade in Egypt and Sudan, roselle in English, or bissap in French-speaking West Africa. To prepare a traditional bissap with dried flowers, choose instead the TANTIE whole red bissap or the RACINES bissap infusion in bags.
How to prepare it?
Count about five teaspoons of granules, that is 20 g, for a 200 ml cup of water, hot or cold, and stir until fully dissolved. Serve hot in winter, with ice cubes in summer. Adjust the dose to your taste: the drink is already sweetened.
What to pair it with?
The STARLING range is also available in bissap alone and lemon. For a stronger ginger juice, try the RACINES concentrated ginger juice. All the hibiscus in the shop is gathered in the bissap and hibiscus flowers section.
