A seasoning, not a tomato paste
Despite its name, this is not a pure tomato paste or powder. Its base is salt, with corn starch, flavour enhancers, maltodextrin, sugar, colourings and vegetable palm fat. Tomato makes up only 0.7% of the recipe, with onion (0.5%), flavourings and aromatic herbs. It is therefore dosed like a stock cube, not like a tomato paste.
How to use it?
Add it during cooking to tomato sauces, jollof rice, thieboudienne, meat or fish stews and marinades, starting with a small spoonful, possibly diluted in a little hot water. Taste before salting: the dish already gets plenty, with 54.5 g of salt per 100 g of product.
