SAMIA rose water is obtained by distilling the petals of the Rosa damascena, grown in Morocco in the Valley of the Roses (M'Goun) since the 16th century. The Rose Festival in Kelaat M'Gouna celebrates this harvest every May. It has scented Oriental pastries and drinks since ancient Persia.
Culinary uses — rose aroma
- Loukoums and nougats: 2 tablespoons in the sweet base.
- Orange salad with petals: 1 tablespoon with cinnamon and pistachios.
- Rose lassi: 1 tablespoon in 25 cL of sweetened yoghurt.
