Potato starch is the pure starch extracted from potatoes, reduced to a very fine white powder. This 1 kg TANTIE bag is used to thicken sauces, soups and creams without lumps, and to lighten your baking.
What is potato starch?
A neutral-tasting starch, obtained from potatoes. It differs from potato flour, which also keeps the tuber's fibres: starch is the pure starch alone, finer and more binding. This bag is of Dutch origin.
How to use it?
Mix the starch into a little cold water before adding it to a hot preparation: it thickens without lumps and gives a translucent result to sauces, soups and creams. In baking, it lightens the texture of cakes and biscuits when it replaces part of the wheat flour. Use about one tablespoon per half-litre of liquid to be thickened.
What to pair it with?
With LEGUMOR rice flour, another neutral starch from the same distributor, or LEGUMOR black-eyed peas to put together a basket of starches and legumes. The whole flours and starches department is grouped on the site.
