PROFRUIT oat flakes are 100% oat flakes, crushed, to cook for a few minutes in milk or water for a creamy porridge. They can also replace part of the flour in pancake batter, or be added raw to yoghurt. 500 g bag.
What are oat flakes?
PROFRUIT oat flakes are obtained by flattening oat grains that have first been crushed. It is a breakfast cereal of Western origin, different from the millet or sorghum traditionally used for West African porridge, but it is prepared in a comparable way: heated in a liquid until it reaches a creamy consistency. PROFRUIT is a brand of the distributor Haudecœur.
How to use them?
For a porridge, heat the flakes for a few minutes in milk or water, stirring, until you get a creamy porridge. Top with fresh fruit, banana, honey or peanuts. You can also stir them raw into yoghurt, millet porridge, or pancake and flatbread batter.
What to pair it with?
To compare with another brand, there are the QUAKER oat flakes. For a porridge closer to West African habits, try the Senegalese millet porridge or the oat flake porridge recipe on the blog. The whole section: cereals and grains.
