FOSTER CLARK'S Lemon powder drink is prepared by pouring a 20 g sachet into 1.5 litres of cold water: it is a sweetened powder with an artificial lemon flavouring, with no fruit juice, very common in West African grocery stores. No need to add sugar, the powder already contains it.
What is the FOSTER CLARK'S powder drink?
FOSTER CLARK'S is a British brand whose sachets display "since 1889"; the company Foster Clark Products has made its drinks in Malta since 1967 and has exported them to West Africa and the Middle East since the late 1960s. The Lemon flavour, like the orange flavour from the same range whose label we checked, is not a lemon juice: it is a powder based on sugar, citric acid, flavouring and colours, with sweeteners. It is sometimes called "powder juice", but no fruit juice goes into its composition.
How to prepare it?
Empty the 20 g sachet into a jug containing 1.5 litres of cold water, stir well until fully dissolved, then keep in the fridge. Serve chilled, with ice cubes if needed.
What to pair it with?
FOSTER CLARK'S sachets mix well together: also try the mango or orange flavours. For a juice made with real citrus fruit, the CHALEUR CRÉOLE lime juice is another option. The whole aisle: exotic drinks.
