DORMOY vanilla cane syrup is a cane sugar syrup flavoured with vanilla pods, made in Martinique by the Dillon distillery. It sweetens ti-punch, rum cocktails and desserts. 50 cl bottle.
What is vanilla cane syrup?
Its ingredient list is just three words: cane sugar, water, vanilla pods. So it is whole vanilla that flavours this syrup, not a simple flavouring or an extract. The result is an amber liquid syrup with a smooth texture, whose vanilla note softens the taste of cane. It is made by the Dillon distillery, in Fort-de-France, the same house as DORMOY cane syrup without vanilla and DORMOY batterie syrup, darker and more concentrated.
How to use it?
It is the reference syrup for ti-punch and planteur: just a few dashes are enough to soften the agricultural white rum and the lime, with the added vanilla note. It also finds its way into coffee or tea, onto pancakes, yoghurt or a fruit salad, and flavours end-of-year cakes and punches. Being more fluid and less concentrated than batterie syrup, it can be used more generously.
What to pair it with?
To vary the syrups from the same house: DORMOY cane syrup, without vanilla and just as light, or DORMOY batterie syrup, stronger, with a caramel taste. For ti-punch, CHALEUR CRÉOLE lime juice. The recipe for Caribbean rum punch is on the blog. The whole section: Caribbean and Antillean flavours.
