The Cameroonian ndolé kit brings together five products to prepare ndolé, a dish made from bitter leaves and peanut paste originating from Cameroon: dried ndolé leaves, raw peanuts, dried smoked shrimp, palm oil and chicken stock. All that's left to add is the meat, fish or fresh shrimp, as well as onions.
What is ndolé?
Ndolé is considered the national dish of Cameroon, especially in the Littoral region around Douala. It is prepared with the leaves of Vernonia amygdalina, a plant native to south-west Cameroon and neighbouring Nigeria, boiled several times to lose their bitterness and then mixed with a peanut paste and spices. The dish is then served with meat, fish or shrimp depending on the household. Find our complete recipe for Cameroonian ndolé.
