Kinkeliba is the everyday infusion of West Africa: dried leaves of Combretum micranthum, steeped in hot water and then sweetened to taste. This TANTIE bag contains 50 g of 100% dried leaves, sourced from Senegal.
What is kinkeliba?
A savanna shrub from West Africa whose leaves are harvested and dried. It is also called séréo or sexo in Wolof, talli in Fula, kokobé or ngolobé in Bambara. In Senegal and Mali, it is the everyday infusion, traditionally drunk in the morning, and also at the end of a meal.
How to prepare it?
The bag instructions call for steeping about 5 tablespoons of dried leaves in 1 litre of water, straining, then sweetening to taste. It is drunk hot or cold, at any time of day.
What to pair it with?
With whole red bissap TANTIE for another Senegalese infusion, or sweet mint SAMIA to flavour the infusion water. The whole teas and infusions range is gathered on the site, and our kinkeliba guide covers its history and uses.
