This Nestlé sweetened condensed milk is made from whole milk, sugar and lactose: a thick, very sweet milk that is poured into coffee or tea and goes into many desserts. Metal can of 397 g, or 305 ml.
What is sweetened condensed milk?
Milk from which most of the water has been removed, then sweetened: it becomes thick, creamy and keeps for a long time in a closed can. This reference is whole milk, with 8% fat, not to be confused with another Nestlé can sold in France, made with semi-skimmed milk. Its label is written in six languages. Unsweetened condensed milk, sometimes called evaporated milk, is a different product: the two are not interchangeable in a recipe.
How to use it?
A spoonful in coffee or tea sweetens and mellows it in a single step. As a dessert, it makes flans, rice pudding, creams and coconut rochers. Shake the can before opening it. Once opened, transfer the rest into a closed container, keep it in the refrigerator and consume it within 3 days.
What to pair it with?
For breakfast, Touba coffee or 555 green tea. For desserts, NIDO powdered milk and KEBA millet thiakri. The thiakry recipe is on the blog. The whole section: sauces and pastes.
