The shrimp acras mix CHALEUR CRÉOLE is a ready-to-use blend for cooking this emblematic Caribbean fritter: add water, shape into balls and drop them into hot oil. 100 g bag, with freeze-dried shrimp and spices.
What is this acras mix?
Acras, or accras, are small fried fritters, a must at aperitif time in Guadeloupe and Martinique. This CHALEUR CRÉOLE mix brings together in one bag the seasoned flour and the freeze-dried shrimp (3.5%) that give the traditional acras its taste, without having to gather each ingredient separately.
How to use it?
Pour the bag's contents into a bowl, add water little by little until you get a thick, smooth batter, and let it rest for a few minutes. Shape small balls with a spoon and drop them into hot oil until golden brown, then drain on paper towel. Serve hot, as an aperitif or starter.
What to pair it with?
For a cod version, the same brand offers a cod acras mix CHALEUR CRÉOLE. To spice things up further, a CHALEUR CRÉOLE bird chilli can be added to the batter, to be dosed with care. Acras are traditionally served with a sauce chien, as in the grilled sea bream with sauce chien recipe. The Caribbean and Creole cuisine section brings together other products to make a complete aperitif.
