ERNST RICHTER'S herbal tea is a tea-bag infusion made from four plants: rhubarb root, liquorice root, aniseed and peppermint leaves. Box of 20 sachets.
What does this herbal tea contain?
Rhubarb root is the main plant, followed by liquorice, aniseed and peppermint. It is a blend of cut dried plants, with no added flavouring. The packaging carries the wording “food product”.
How to prepare it?
One sachet per cup of about 200 ml of boiling water, following the infusion time printed on the box, then remove the sachet. The infusion provides 2 kcal per cup.
Precautions for use
Preparations based on rhubarb root are subject to specific European oversight: they are among the substances placed under Union surveillance (EU Implementing Regulation 2021/468), following an opinion from the European Food Safety Authority on hydroxyanthracene derivatives.
The European monograph of the European Medicines Agency on rhubarb root advises against its use for children under 12 years old, as well as during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and recommends not using it for more than one to two weeks without medical advice. This herbal tea also contains liquorice: in case of high blood pressure, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice. Ask a healthcare professional for advice before drinking it, especially if you are undergoing treatment.
