NUMBER ONE Moringa Powder is an olive-green powder obtained by drying then grinding the leaves of Moringa oleifera (moringa), grown in Senegal. It is added in small amounts to smoothies, soups and everyday dishes. 100 g bag.
What is moringa powder?
Moringa is a tree native to the Indian subcontinent, now widely grown in West Africa, notably in the Senegalese regions of Kolda and Ziguinchor. It is called nébéday in Wolof, zogalé in Hausa and n'saye in Bambara. Once its dried leaves are ground, they give an olive-green powder with a vegetal taste, fairly close to spinach or matcha tea.
How to use moringa powder?
- A teaspoon in a smoothie, a fruit juice or a yoghurt.
- Sprinkled over a soup, a sauce or vegetables at the end of cooking.
- Mixed into a pancake batter, a porridge or a savoury preparation.
- It is best added off the heat: prolonged cooking dulls its colour and taste.
What to pair it with?
NUMBER ONE moringa leaf offers the same tree in another format. For a complete smoothie, pair it with BIO RACINES baobab powder. The moringa guide details other uses on the NKOSI blog. The whole range: teas and infusions.
