CERELAC honey, wheat and milk is a powdered cereal by Nestlé for young children. The box states “from 12 months”: it contains 5.5% honey, a food not recommended for babies under one year old. The milk is already in the powder, you only need to add water. 400 g box.
Why from 12 months?
Honey can contain spores of the bacteria responsible for infant botulism. ANSES recommends not giving it to children under one year old, even cooked or processed: heat does not destroy these spores. This is why this item carries the “from 12 months” notice. For a younger baby, CERELAC wheat and milk, without honey, is indicated from 6 to 36 months.
How to prepare it?
- Boil water, then let it cool to lukewarm.
- Measure 75 ml of this water and pour it into the bowl.
- Add 25 g of CERELAC and stir until you get a smooth cereal, then check the temperature before serving.
Prepare each portion at mealtime and do not keep leftovers.
What to pair it with?
The whole department: flours and starches.
