NUMBER ONE ginger Toffi are caramels flavoured with a hint of ginger. They are found in African grocery stores, in a bag to slip into your pocket. 50 g bag.
What is toffi?
Toffi, or toffee, is an African confectionery close to soft caramel: traditionally, sweetened condensed milk, butter and sugar are cooked together until a soft paste forms, which is then cut into sweets. This NUMBER ONE version adds a hint of ginger, a spice frequently paired with West African sweets and drinks.
How are they eaten?
As they are, like a sweet to suck or bite into. They are also offered after a meal or with tea, the warmth of the ginger extending that of the caramel.
What to pair it with?
In the same ginger spirit: BÉGUÉ ginger sweets, a confectionery from Senegal. The whole section: exotic snacks and treats.
