SAMIA Rainbow Pep's are jelly sweets in multicoloured sticks, yellow, green and orange, with a sweet, tangy coating. Made with halal beef gelatine, they are sold in a 200 g bag.
What do Rainbow Pep's taste like?
The bag describes the sticks as “spicy”, meaning tangy: the sugar coating gives a slight tingle on the tongue, it is not chilli. The colours come from vegetable concentrates (safflower, spirulina, blackcurrant, carrot, lemon, apple, radish, pumpkin, tomato), as stated by the “Natural flavourings and colourings” logo on the bag.
Halal sweets
SAMIA is a halal brand distributed in France by Haudecœur. The gelatine in these sweets is halal beef gelatine, and the bag carries a halal logo. They contain no pork, but are not suitable for vegetarians, as the gelatine is of animal origin. They also contain wheat flour, hence gluten.
The other SAMIA sweets
The range also includes Bottle Pep's with a tutti frutti taste, Fraise Tendre and Fraise Duo. All confectionery is in the snacks and treats section.
