NUMBER ONE Moringa Leaf is made up of whole dried leaves of Moringa oleifera (moringa), to infuse in hot water like a herbal tea or to rehydrate for a soup. 100 g bag.
What is moringa leaf?
Moringa is a tree native to the Indian subcontinent, now grown throughout West and Central Africa. It is called nébéday in Wolof (Senegal), zogalé in Hausa (Nigeria, Niger) and n'saye in Bambara (Mali). Dried whole, its leaves keep a khaki-green colour and a dry, brittle texture, for a vegetal, slightly bitter taste once infused.
How to prepare a moringa leaf infusion?
- Use one teaspoon of dried leaves per cup of hot, not boiling, water.
- Leave to infuse for 8 to 10 minutes, then strain before drinking.
- Besides the infusion, rehydrate the leaves in warm water before adding them to a soup, such as Nigerian miyan zogale (a soup of moringa leaves, groundnut paste, tomato and meat).
What to pair it with?
NUMBER ONE moringa powder offers the same tree in another format. To put together a tray of infusions, add organic kinkeliba, in the African teas and infusions section.
